Amphora Hotel
First Impressions
Walking up to the Amphora Hotel along Šetalište Pape Ivana Pavla II, you immediately get that feeling you’ve picked the right spot. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Split‘s most coveted area — honestly, the location alone justifies the stay. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly commands respect from passersby. Every corner reflects thoughtful design choices that enhance your stay without overwhelming the senses.
Prime Split Location
You know what really struck me? How effortlessly you can slip into Split’s rhythm from here. Diocletian’s Palace is practically on your doorstep, and the Riva promenade — where locals gather for their evening stroll — is just a few minutes away. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.9 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that descend on the palace each morning. The neighborhood perfectly balances accessibility with authentic local atmosphere.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — not flashy, but everything felt intentional. Croatian hospitality shines through in the little details, like how the staff actually remembers your name after the first day. The windows frame views that remind you you’re in one of Croatia’s most beautiful cities, and the beds are genuinely comfortable (which isn’t always a given in European hotels, let’s be honest). Modern amenities blend seamlessly with traditional Dalmatian charm throughout the space.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
Breakfast here is a solid affair — they offer both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re the grab-and-go type or someone who likes to linger over coffee, you’re covered. What really impressed me was the private parking situation. If you’ve ever tried to park in Split’s old town area, you’ll appreciate having a guaranteed spot. It’s one of those things that seems small until you desperately need it. The restaurant also serves excellent local cuisine for dinner, making it easy to enjoy quality meals without venturing far.
Why Guests Love It
The Amphora Hotel works because it understands what travelers actually want — a comfortable base in an unbeatable location without unnecessary fuss. The 8.5 rating reflects exactly what you get: reliable quality in Split’s best neighborhood. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or celebrity chef restaurants, but you are getting a genuinely well-run hotel where the staff cares about your experience. For exploring Split’s ancient streets, catching ferries to the islands, or just soaking up that particular Dalmatian coast energy, this place puts you exactly where you want to be. It’s the kind of hotel that makes you want to return to Split again and again.
Split’s hotels wrap guests in limestone walls, lavender scents, and concierge-led yacht charters.

Over all favorite stay during our whole honeymoon
The breakfast spread was amazing, with a great variety. We also made the most of the bottomless mimosas.
The lady at concierge was very helpful and arranged our excursions for us. When we got lost on the way to the departure point, she even called and sent WhatsApp messages with directions.
The hotel also has great facilities for when you want a lazy day or if it is raining, like it was on one of the days. There is a lovely covered pool and hot tub. The staff at the spa and pool area are extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here.
The room was big. The staff friendly. The wellness area and sun beds where good.
