Apartments Marmont
First Impressions
Walking up to Apartments Marmont on Tončićeva Street, you immediately get that “I’m in the right place” feeling. This four-star property sits right in the thick of things in Split — I mean, you’re literally steps away from Diocletian’s Palace and all the action. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream tourist trap, which honestly was refreshing after seeing some of the flashier places around town.
The Perfect Split Location
Here’s what I love about staying here — you can roll out of bed and be at the palace walls in about two minutes. The narrow cobblestone streets of the old town are right there, but you’re also close enough to the waterfront that morning coffee with a harbor view becomes part of your routine. Couples seem to absolutely adore this spot (they rate it a perfect 10), and I get why. There’s something romantic about being able to wander through ancient Roman ruins, then duck into a cozy wine bar without ever needing a taxi or tram.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment I stayed in felt more like a stylish Split home than a typical hotel room. You’ve got your own space to spread out, which is clutch when you’re staying for more than a couple nights. The kitchen setup means you can grab fresh produce from the Green Market (just a short walk away) and actually cook with Croatian ingredients if that’s your thing. Though honestly, with all the incredible restaurants nearby, I mostly used it for morning coffee and storing leftover peka from dinner.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here covers all the bases — they’ve got everything from continental classics to Italian-style spreads, plus vegetarian and vegan options that actually taste good. What I really appreciated was the breakfast-to-go option, perfect for those days when you want to catch the early morning light at Marjan Hill or beat the crowds to the palace cellars. The American breakfast items felt a bit out of place in Croatia, but hey, sometimes you just want familiar comfort food.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Split can be tricky — stay too far out and you’re constantly commuting to the good stuff, stay right in the palace area and you might end up somewhere touristy and overpriced. Apartments Marmont hits that sweet spot where you’re genuinely in the heart of everything (that 9.8 location score isn’t just marketing fluff) but still feel like you’re experiencing the real Split. You can hear the morning bustle of locals heading to work, smell fresh bread from nearby bakeries, and actually live in the city rather than just visit it. Plus, having your own space with parking available means you can easily explore the Dalmatian coast and islands while using Split as your home base.
Hotel in Split reservations spike before festival season, so savvy travelers secure harbor suites months ahead.

Guest Reviews
Also the host anela was very friendly really helpful and even arranged a taxi for the airport when we was leaving you could not ask for more we really enjoyed our holiday and the place we stayed made it even better with everything really close by it literally takes you 2 minutes to get into town everything pretty much on your doorstep.
Also the place has got air conditioning which helped at times.
I thought being a central location it would be quite noisy at night but it really wasn't the walls on the apartment must be quite thick because we really didn't hear anything outside and never disturbed my sleep.
Very comfortable beds ( especially in main bedroom)
Nice bathroom
Lovely to have a little balcony - perfect for alfresco breakfast.
It's right next to a busy restaurant, but not noisy with doors closed.
Great air con.
