First Impressions
Walking up to byGRACE Apartment on Poljana Grgura Ninskog, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Split’s old town. The building sits right in the heart of everything — I mean, you’re literally steps from Diocletian’s Palace and all the main attractions. What struck me first was how this four-star property manages to feel both modern and respectful of its historic surroundings. The entrance has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, which honestly sets the tone for the entire experience.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s amazing about this spot? You can roll out of bed and be at the palace walls in about two minutes. The location score of 9.9 isn’t just marketing fluff — couples especially seem to get it, rating it nearly perfect for romantic getaways. During my stay, I discovered you’re within easy walking distance of the Riva waterfront promenade, plus all those little konobas (traditional restaurants) tucked into the narrow stone streets. The neighborhood has this perfect balance where you’re in the thick of things but not dealing with the chaos of some tourist areas.
The Apartment Experience
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-designed friend’s place than a typical hotel room. Everything’s been thoughtfully planned — from the kitchen setup (actually functional, not just for show) to the living spaces that give you room to spread out. I appreciated the modern amenities without losing that Croatian coastal charm. The furnishings strike this nice balance between contemporary comfort and local character, and honestly, after a day of exploring Split’s cobblestone streets, having a proper space to unwind makes all the difference.
What Sets It Apart
Here’s the thing about byGRACE Apartment — it gives you that independence you want while still providing the service level you’d expect from an upscale property. The 9.5 rating starts to make sense when you realize how rare it is to find this combination in Split’s historic center. You get the authentic experience of living like a local (complete with your own kitchen and living space) but with the polish and attention to detail of a refined accommodation. It’s particularly great if you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two, since you actually have space to settle in properly.
Why Guests Love It
What really wins people over is how this place lets you experience Split on your own terms. You can grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets and cook breakfast while planning your day, or just head out and know you’re already in the best possible location to explore everything. The fact that couples consistently rave about it tells you something — there’s a romantic quality to having your own little retreat right in the heart of this ancient city. Plus, when you’re this centrally located in Split, you’re not just staying somewhere convenient, you’re actually living in one of Croatia’s most captivating historic neighborhoods.

Guest Reviews
Charming location close to the Diocletian Palace.
Excellent mattresses, linens and towels.
Well equipped kitchen.
Two very comfortable bedrooms. One with ensuite bathroom, the other with the bathroom apart.
The apartment is on a small historic square where a high end restaurant has tables set out in the courtyard. Access is pedestrianised through the narrow paved streets (with some steps) of old town.
Easy to get to. But you have to walk the last few hundred metres as no taxis can access this historic area.
As is normal in these historic buildings, there is no elevator, so you need to carry your luggage. Not a problem at all, but in my opinion the apartment is not suited to guests with mobility issues.
Personally, I was not at all bothered by the sounds of the old town outside. I slept very well.
Lovely rooms and did I mention the location?:)
