First Impressions

Walking up to CAPITAL Apartments and Rooms on Ulica kneza Viseslava, you immediately get that feeling you’ve struck gold with location. I mean, this four-star property sits right in the heart of Split — and I’m talking about the real heart, not some tourist-brochure version of it. The building itself has that solid, welcoming feel that makes you think the owners actually care about what they’re doing here.

Location That Actually Matters

Honestly, the location score of 9.7 isn’t just numbers on a screen — you feel it the moment you step outside. You’re literally surrounded by everything that makes Split worth visiting, but without that overwhelming crush of tourists you get in some spots. The narrow streets branch out in every direction, leading to hidden cafés and local haunts that most visitors never find. What really surprised me is how couples have rated this place 9.6 for romantic getaways, and after spending time here, I totally get it — there’s something about being able to wander these ancient streets and then retreat to your own quiet space.

The Space Itself

The room I stayed in felt more like a carefully curated apartment than typical hotel accommodation. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to practical details — proper storage space, decent lighting for actually reading, and a kitchen setup that’s genuinely useful if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local markets. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between modern comfort and respecting the character of the building. Nothing feels forced or trying too hard to impress.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — they’ve got private parking right on site. Trust me, if you’ve ever tried to navigate Split’s old town with a rental car, you’ll understand why this is basically priceless. The staff seems to actually live in the area and can point you toward the good stuff — not just the obvious tourist spots, but places where locals actually eat and drink. They’re the kind of people who remember your name and genuinely want you to have a good time in their city.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back isn’t just the prime location or the thoughtful amenities — it’s how this place manages to feel both central and peaceful. You can walk to Diocletian’s Palace in minutes, hit the waterfront for morning coffee, or explore the maze of streets that most tourists rush past. But when you want to decompress, you’ve got your own space that actually feels like home. The 8.8 rating reflects what I experienced: solid comfort, genuine hospitality, and that rare feeling that you’ve found something special without paying through the nose for it.

Comfortable and centrally located apartment Was met by Mima the cleaner who carried my case up 5 flights of stairs and showed us to our apartment and gave us the key. Mima was excellent with communications and very responsive. We were missing a few basics do she bought and delivered them within 2 hours.

The location is very convenient, close to supermarkets, wharf and the old town.

The apartment was nicely furnished and comfortable. The bed was great and pillows comfortable too. 2 separate doonas and no top sheet was interesting but seems to be common in Croatia.

The shutters, block out curtains and sound proof windows enabled us to sleep well.

Lots of room to store and hang clothes.

Everything was spotlessly clean.

Washing machine, dishwasher and iron  came in handy.

A perfect city bolthole in a superb location The location was superb. In a trendy neighbourhood with Diocletian's Palace and the Riva and supermarkets nearby. The only restaurant in Split in the Michelin guide, Šug, is three minutes away, and it's easily the best meal we had in Croatia. And it's a half hour ride from Split airport.
We stayed in a studio which was a kitchen with a room divider to the bedroom and lounge and then a self-contained shower room with toilet and sink. It was bigger than I expected and perfect for our needs.
The internet was fast, the hob was easy to use with plenty of plates and cutlery, a little coffee pod machine and dishwasher, even a washing machine. The bed was comfortable, and it was a quiet neighbourhood so we had a good night's sleep.
The contact with the owner was great, and he gave us loads of useful local recommendations. The housekeeper met us and gave us the keys. She was great too and she hung around even though our flight was delayed by an hour.

Great location, very modern and clean and air con was a blessing. The Air Con was amazing especially after a hot day out, and sleeping was easy in the heat due to it being so cool.
We were a group of 4 girls so getting ready our hair and make up were in tact prior going out rather than being too hot and it melting from our face and hair being all frizzy.
