The building itself has this modern elegance that feels refreshingly clean-lined after wandering through Split’s ancient stone streets all day.

Here’s what I love about where this place sits — you’re genuinely in a residential neighborhood where actual Split locals live and work. There’s a small market just around the corner where you can grab fresh fruit, and honestly, some of the best coffee I had in Croatia was at a tiny café two blocks away that I never would’ve found if I’d stayed closer to the palace. The walk to the old town takes maybe eight minutes, which means you can easily pop back to your room for a midday break without it feeling like a major expedition.

Comfort That Actually Delivers

You know what really impressed me? The beds here are genuinely comfortable — and I’m someone who usually struggles to sleep well in hotels. The rooms have this understated modern design that doesn’t try too hard, with clean lines and enough space to actually unpack your suitcase properly. The air conditioning works well (crucial during Split’s summer heat), and the bathrooms are spacious with good water pressure. I mean, these might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how many places get them wrong.

The breakfast setup here is solid — they do both continental and buffet options, and the quality is definitely above average for Croatia. Fresh local cheeses, good bread, and they actually have decent coffee, which isn’t always a given. What really made my stay smoother was the private parking situation. If you’re driving in Split (which I’d recommend for exploring the islands), having a guaranteed spot is worth its weight in gold. The old town’s parking situation is basically a nightmare, so this takes a huge stress off your plate.

This place works because it strikes that perfect balance between being close to everything you want to see while giving you a genuine neighborhood experience. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the location — there’s something romantic about walking back through quiet residential streets after dinner in the palace, and the hotel feels like your own little retreat. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Split, but it delivers on the things that actually matter for a good stay.
