Emperor’s Suites
First Impressions
Walking up to Emperor’s Suites on Trumbucac street, you immediately get that feeling you’ve found something special. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Split, and I mean literally — you’re about a two-minute walk from Diocletian’s Palace. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which honestly made me feel more like a local than a visitor.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about the location — you can roll out of bed and be exploring ancient Roman ruins before your morning coffee kicks in. The palace walls are so close you can actually hear the morning vendors setting up in the squares. But here’s the thing that surprised me: despite being in the absolute center of everything, Trumbucac street itself is relatively quiet. You get all the benefits of being in the thick of things without the constant noise that usually comes with prime locations. Couples seem to really get this balance — I can see why they rate the location so highly for romantic getaways.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was spacious enough that I didn’t feel like I was living out of a suitcase, which is saying something for a city center property. What really stood out though were the beds — and I’m someone who usually struggles to sleep well in hotels. There’s something about the mattress quality here that just works. The windows are well-insulated too, so even though you’re in the heart of Split, you’re not dealing with street noise all night. The bathroom was modern without being sterile, and honestly, the water pressure was better than what I have at home.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here have this perfect rhythm to them. You can grab coffee from one of the nearby cafés (there’s a local spot just around the corner that does incredible espresso), then wander into the palace complex before the day-trip crowds arrive. Evenings are even better — you’re close enough to the waterfront that you can catch sunset at the Riva promenade, then duck back through the narrow streets for dinner. The whole area comes alive after dark, but in that authentic Mediterranean way where locals are out enjoying themselves, not just tourist spots staying open late.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Emperor’s Suites work is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to impress. The location score of 9.8 isn’t just about proximity to attractions — it’s about being positioned where you can actually live like you belong in Split for a few days. You’re not constantly calculating taxi rides or walking times because everything flows naturally from here. The comfort level is spot-on too; after long days exploring Marjan Hill or day-tripping to nearby islands, you actually want to come back and relax rather than just crash. It’s that sweet spot where the hotel enhances your Split experience instead of just providing a place to sleep.

It's a great size, you could easily live here long term.
It really is in an awesome location, there was great communication and everything we needed. We stayed 3 nights and it was an awesome start to a 12 day tour of an amazingly beautiful part of the world.
