The Location Sweet Spot

Here’s what I love about where Hotel Cvita sits — you get the best of both worlds. You can walk to the palace walls in about two minutes, but you’re on a quieter street that actually lets you sleep at night. The couples who stay here consistently rate the location highly, and honestly, I get it. You’re close enough to stumble back from dinner at Villa Spiza (trust me on this one), but far enough from the main drag that you won’t hear every tour group at 7 AM. The Riva waterfront is just a short stroll away, and you know what? Having that parking situation sorted with their free private spots is huge in Split — most places leave you circling the block for an hour.

The room I stayed in was exactly what you want after a day of exploring — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Nothing overly flashy, but everything works properly (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in Croatian hotels). The air conditioning actually cools the space, the shower has decent pressure, and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept on a marshmallow. The windows open properly too, which I always appreciate when the evening breeze comes off the Adriatic.

I’m usually a grab-coffee-and-go person, but Hotel Cvita’s breakfast setup actually got me downstairs most mornings. They’ve got this buffet spread that covers all the bases — continental options, vegetarian choices, even gluten-free stuff if that’s your thing. The local touches make it interesting though; they’ll have Croatian cheeses and regional specialties mixed in with the standard fare. If you’re rushing to catch a ferry to the islands, they’ll sort you out with breakfast to go, which saved me more than once when I had early boats to Hvar.

  Staff were lovely, we had a spacious room with balcony looking over the Adriatic Sea. It was about ten minute walk to the beach and about 20mins to town. But taxis and Ubers are everywhere. The breakfast was excellent with a huge variety. The outside pool was lovely, and the inside pool had a nice setting. They had a small gym which we used a couple of times, it had a couple of running machines and an upright bike plus some kettle bells and some serious weights.
