Rooms Lejletul Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Rooms Lejletul on Marmontova Street, you immediately get that “I’m in the right place” feeling. This four-star boutique property sits right in the thick of Split’s historic center — I mean, you’re literally steps from Diocletian’s Palace. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, but you know there’s something special waiting inside.
Location That Actually Matters
Honestly, the location here is pretty much perfect. You’re on a quiet side street that keeps you away from the main tourist chaos, but walk thirty seconds and you’re at the palace walls. I loved being able to grab morning coffee at one of the local spots nearby, then wander into the ancient courtyards without dealing with crowds of day-trippers who haven’t arrived yet. The Riva waterfront promenade is maybe a two-minute stroll — close enough that you can pop down for sunset drinks without it being a whole expedition.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for a historic building, with these lovely high ceilings that made everything feel airy. What really struck me was the attention to detail — modern amenities thoughtfully integrated without losing the character of the space. The bed was genuinely comfortable (sometimes you wonder if hotels just say that), and the bathroom had this nice rainfall shower that actually worked properly. You know what I appreciated? The soundproofing was excellent, which isn’t always a given in old buildings.
Daily Life at the Property
The staff here really knows their stuff about Split — they gave me restaurant recommendations that were spot-on, including this little family place tucked away in the palace that I never would’ve found on my own. There’s no on-site restaurant, but honestly, with the incredible dining scene right outside your door, you don’t need one. The front desk team was helpful without being pushy, and they seemed genuinely interested in making sure guests had a good experience rather than just checking boxes.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Rooms Lejletul work so well is that balance between being right in the heart of everything while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. You can step out and be immediately immersed in Split’s energy — the morning markets, the evening strolls along the waterfront, the spontaneous discoveries around every corner. But when you come back, there’s this sense of calm that lets you actually recharge. The combination of the prime location, comfortable accommodations, and that local knowledge from the staff creates exactly what you want from a Split base — easy access to the city’s best parts without any of the usual downtown hotel headaches. This apartment-style kitchen setup provides flexibility for longer stays.
Hotels in Split line Roman alleyways, seaside promenades, and marina districts buzzing with konobas.

Great apartment, great host – Vlad from Poland (10/10)
Great location right in the city center. A lot of restaurants and historic streets nearby.
The host was fantastic, resolving any questions or issues within minutes.
Extra kudos for having two sinks – appreciated when traveling with a partner.
Looking at some other reviews mentioning noise – we didn’t hear any at night (with closed windows though, but why opening them when it's hot outside and you have AC 😀 ).
