Here’s what I love about staying in Split‘s heart — you wake up and everything’s right there. The palace walls, the waterfront, those little coffee spots that locals actually use — it’s all within a two-minute walk. I watched couples wandering hand-in-hand to the Riva promenade every morning, and honestly, I get why the location scores so high with romantic travelers. You can grab fresh produce from the Green Market, pop back to your place, then head out for dinner without any of that tourist-area hassle. The neighborhood truly comes alive throughout the day.

The Space

The studio apartment setup is pretty clever — it’s compact but doesn’t feel cramped, which is tricky to pull off in Split’s old town. The kitchen area is small but functional, perfect for making morning coffee or storing those Croatian wines you’ll inevitably buy. What struck me most was how quiet it stays despite being in the thick of things. The windows are well-designed, so you get the energy of the location without the noise keeping you up at night. Mornings here have this lovely rhythm — you’ll hear the city waking up gradually, vendors setting up, locals heading to work. I found myself spending more time just hanging out in the space than I usually do in hotels, partly because it feels like a proper home base.   The location, within the walls of Diocletian’s palace, is perfect. 1 min walk to the Riva, where we dropped off our rental car, and also caught ferry to our next destination. We were given very clear instructions on how to get to the accomodation.
  The apartment itself is lovely. Very neat, spacious, and clean. Great bathroom amenities, and a few welcome drinks in the fridge.
  We met our host, Silvija, who handed the keys to us, as well as provided a map with her recommendations on where to eat. She is so lovely, and is incredibly prompt with her communications. Knowing our trip to Croatia was to celebrate our honeymoon, she left us a beautiful gift. What a thoughtful and kind gesture.

  We absolutely loved our one night stay in Siljivas apartment. It was in a great location- as mentioned in some other reviews it was over a pub that plays loud music and if we’d had more energy after a long day of travelling we would have been down there loving it! As it was we enjoyed it from the apartment. Really clean, had everything you’d need (and more) and Silijva was so welcoming and friendly, and gave us helpful directions to find the property from the port. I would 100% return if (when!) I’m back in Split.
