Valenti rooms
First Impressions
Walking up to Valenti rooms on Starčevićeva street, you immediately get that feeling you’re staying somewhere special. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Split‘s most coveted neighborhood — honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the historic charm of the area, and you can tell from the moment you arrive that someone really cares about the details here. The sophisticated architecture seamlessly blends with the surrounding historic structures, creating an atmosphere that speaks to both tradition and modern refinement.
The Perfect Split Location
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally in the top-rated area of Split, which means everything you want to see is within walking distance. Diocletian’s Palace is just a few minutes away, and the Riva waterfront promenade is close enough that you can hear the gentle buzz of evening crowds from your room. The location score of 8.9 isn’t just a number; it reflects how perfectly positioned you are to explore both the ancient Roman ruins and the vibrant modern café culture that makes Split so captivating. The strategic positioning allows guests to immerse themselves fully in the city’s rich cultural tapestry while maintaining easy access to transportation hubs.
What Makes It Special
The rooms at Valenti rooms strike that perfect balance between contemporary comfort and local character. Each space feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate, with modern amenities that actually work properly — you know how rare that can be in historic European city centers. The attention to detail shows in everything from the quality linens to the way natural light fills the spaces during the day. Every element has been carefully selected to enhance your stay, from the locally-sourced furnishings to the carefully curated artwork that reflects Split’s artistic heritage.
The Neighborhood Experience
Staying on Starčevićeva puts you right where locals actually live and work, not just in some tourist bubble. There’s a fantastic local restaurant just around the corner that serves incredible peka (you have to try it), and the morning coffee culture here is something else entirely. You’ll find yourself naturally falling into the Split rhythm of leisurely mornings and long evening strolls along the ancient stone streets. The neighborhood truly captures the authentic essence of Croatian coastal living, where traditional markets blend seamlessly with contemporary boutiques and galleries.
Why Couples Love It
That 9.3 rating from couples isn’t surprising once you experience the area yourself. There’s something inherently romantic about wandering back to your accommodation through narrow medieval alleys after dinner, especially when you’re staying somewhere that feels like a local secret rather than an obvious tourist choice. The combination of historic atmosphere and modern comfort creates exactly the kind of memorable experience that makes a trip to Croatia special. You’re not just visiting Split, you’re actually living in it for a few days, creating memories that will last long after you return home. The intimate setting provides the perfect backdrop for romantic evenings and meaningful conversations.
Best hotels in Split blend rooftop plunge pools, sea-view balconies, and Dalmatian tasting menus.

Guest Reviews
The location was also very good. I admit I ended up taking an uber down to thw Riva a few times (about €7 a time) but for most people it is a very easy 10minute walk, a lot of which is in beautiful old town.
-Convenient location near to the old town
Luckily Gianni waited for me as it would have been difficult for me to find the first time.
