Here’s the thing about Split — location is everything, and Villa Central gets it completely right. You’re literally in the heart of the old town, which means Diocletian’s Palace is basically your backyard. I mean, you can walk to the Peristyle in about three minutes, but you’re tucked away on a quieter street so you’re not dealing with the main tourist chaos. The Riva waterfront is right there too, and honestly, being able to grab morning coffee and watch the ferries come in never gets old. Plus — and this is huge — they have free private parking on site, which if you’ve ever tried to park in Split’s old town, you’ll know is like finding gold.

My room was one of those spaces that just works perfectly. Clean lines, comfortable bed, and these lovely touches that feel authentically Croatian rather than generic hotel. The bathroom was modern and well-designed, and I actually appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with unnecessary amenities. There’s something romantic about the setting without it being overly themed or cheesy about it.

Whether you’re planning romantic evenings wandering the palace walls or day trips to the islands, you couldn’t ask for a better base — and honestly, after experiencing how perfectly positioned this place is, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Split.
