Five Elements Luxury Rooms
First Impressions
Walking up to Five Elements Luxury Rooms on Glagoljaška ulica, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Split. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of the old town — I mean, you’re literally steps from Diocletian’s Palace. The building itself has that perfect blend of historic Croatian architecture with modern touches that doesn’t feel forced or overdone. You know what really struck me? The intimate scale of the place makes it feel more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than a typical hotel.
Location That Actually Matters
Honestly, the location here is pretty incredible — couples rate it 9.5 for good reason. You can roll out of bed and be exploring the ancient palace walls in about two minutes. The narrow stone streets of Split’s old town are right outside your door, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: Glagoljaška is just quiet enough to escape the main tourist crowds while still being central. I found myself wandering to the Riva waterfront for morning coffee, then ducking back through the medieval alleys whenever I needed a break from the bustle.
The Room Experience
Each room really does feel thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate. The “five elements” theme isn’t just marketing speak — there’s actually a subtle nod to natural materials and colors throughout. What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details: proper blackout curtains (essential when those Croatian summer mornings start early), excellent air conditioning, and bathrooms that actually have space to spread out your stuff. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, which honestly isn’t always a given in boutique properties.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here surprised me in the best way. They offer everything from continental to full English to American-style options — basically whatever mood you’re in, they’ve got you covered. The buffet quality is solid, and I mean really solid, not just “good for a hotel breakfast.” What’s also worth mentioning is the private parking on site, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Split’s old town by car, you’ll know is basically gold. Most places around here either don’t have parking at all or charge a fortune for it.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.9 rating isn’t just luck — it’s the kind of place where small details add up to something memorable. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the local spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups. You’re close enough to everything that matters in Split, but the property itself feels like a peaceful retreat when you need it. I think what really sets it apart is that balance between being thoroughly modern and comfortable while respecting the historic character of where you are. It’s the sort of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Split, not just passing through it.

exceptional. We highly recommend Five Elements for your wonderful stay in Split!
The accommodation is a classic, don’t judge a book by its cover. The outside of the building lacks curb appeal, but this is normal for most, if not all the buildings outside of the old town. The inside however is exactly like the photos, luxurious & spacious. A lot of thought has gone into the aesthetics and comfort for the guest. The bed is huge! Handmade too! The most comfortable I’ve ever slept in.
There’s no mirrors in the main room which I suspect is to do with feng shui. There was a full length mirror in the hall and plenty in the bathroom. I just like to have natural light to apply makeup and more surface space for toiletries. This is my personal preference.
It’s a short walk into town where you pass two supermarkets. Slight hill and stairs on the way back.
Parking available.
