No.5 Luxury Studio
First Impressions
Walking up to No.5 Luxury Studio on Ulica Miljenka Smoje, you’ll immediately notice how this four-star property sits right in the thick of things — I mean, you’re literally in Split’s old town here. The building itself has that perfect blend of historic Croatian architecture with modern touches that doesn’t feel forced or overdone. What struck me most was how quiet it manages to be despite being so central, which honestly surprised me given how bustling this area gets during peak season.
Location & Neighborhood
This spot is absolutely unbeatable if you want to experience Split properly. You’re a two-minute walk from Diocletian’s Palace, and the Riva waterfront promenade is right there when you want to grab coffee or watch the sunset. I loved how you can duck into tiny konobas (local taverns) or browse the green market without dealing with any tourist traps — well, mostly anyway. The couples who stay here clearly get it, rating the location nearly perfect, and I can see why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away on a side street that locals actually use.
The Studio Experience
The studio itself feels more spacious than you’d expect, with smart design choices that make every square meter count. There’s a proper kitchenette if you want to prep some fresh ingredients from the nearby market, though honestly, with so many great restaurants within walking distance, I barely used it. The bathroom is modern and well-appointed — not huge, but everything works perfectly and the water pressure is actually decent (which isn’t always a given in old town Split). The air conditioning was a lifesaver during my July stay, and the Wi-Fi never gave me any trouble.
Daily Life & Practical Details
What I appreciated most was how the place functions for actual living, not just sleeping. The windows open wide for those perfect spring and fall evenings when you want fresh air instead of AC, and there’s enough storage space for a week-long stay without feeling cramped. The building stays surprisingly quiet at night — I think the thick stone walls help with that. Parking isn’t included (and you wouldn’t want to drive in old town anyway), but there are public lots nearby if you absolutely need a car. The staff response time was quick whenever I had questions, which matters when you’re trying to make the most of your time in Split.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place where you’ll spend all day lounging by a pool or getting pampered at a spa. What No.5 Upscale Studio does brilliantly is give you a refined home base right where Split’s real energy lives and breathes. You’ll fall asleep to the distant sounds of the old town settling down for the night, wake up to church bells, and step outside into streets that have been bustling with life for literally centuries. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little retreat in such a historic setting — you get privacy when you want it and instant access to one of Croatia’s most captivating cities when you’re ready to explore.
Apartments in Split suit families with stone terraces, full kitchens, and sunset views across the Adriatic.
