You know what’s incredible about staying here? You’re literally steps away from Diocletian’s Palace — and I’m not exaggerating when I say steps. The narrow cobblestone streets of old Split are right outside your door, with all those hidden bars, local konobas, and shops that tourists spend hours trying to find. Couples absolutely love this spot (they rate the location a perfect 10), and after staying here, I totally get why. You can stumble back from dinner without worrying about taxis or long walks, which is pretty perfect when you’ve been sampling Croatian wine all evening.

The Room Experience

The room itself strikes a nice balance between modern comfort and respecting the historic setting. The stone walls give you that authentic Split feeling, but the amenities are definitely contemporary — good air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer), comfortable bedding, and a bathroom that actually has decent water pressure. I appreciated that they didn’t go overboard trying to make everything ultra-modern; instead, they worked with the building’s character, which feels more genuine than some places that strip away all the history.

Daily Life & Practicalities

One thing I really valued was how easy it made exploring the city — you’re already inside the historic center, so there’s no commuting to the good stuff. The Riva waterfront is maybe a three-minute walk, and you can grab morning coffee at any number of local spots without having to venture far. The staff knows the area well and can point you toward the less touristy places, which honestly saved me from some pretty mediocre meals. Parking isn’t available on-site (which makes sense given the location), but they’ll help you sort out where to leave your car if you’re driving.
