This four-star property sits right in the heart of Split‘s old town, and I mean literally — you’re steps away from Diocletian’s Palace without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drags. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, which honestly makes it feel more authentic than some of the flashier places nearby.

Location Magic

Here’s what I love about the location — you can stumble out the front door and be exploring ancient Roman ruins in about two minutes, but when you want to escape the crowds, you just duck back into this quieter street. The Riva waterfront is a pleasant five-minute walk, and you know what? That short distance makes all the difference when you’re trying to avoid the cruise ship crowds during peak hours. I’ve stayed in places right on the Riva, and trust me, the noise and foot traffic get old fast.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — not huge, but everything had its place and the layout actually made sense. What struck me was the attention to detail in the furnishings and how they managed to blend modern comfort with nods to the historic surroundings. The bathroom was well-appointed, and honestly, after walking around Split’s cobblestones all day, having a proper shower with good water pressure felt like a small miracle. The air conditioning worked perfectly too, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those sweltering summer afternoons.

Neighborhood Insights

Being on Kamenita ulica puts you in this sweet spot where you feel connected to the pulse of the old town but aren’t constantly dodging tour groups. There’s a great little restaurant just around the corner that locals actually frequent — something you don’t find easily in the more touristy zones. The street itself has character without being overly polished, and I found myself enjoying the short walks to different parts of the palace complex, discovering new corners each time.

• Amazing stay in Split! – Hanna from France (10/10)

  Very cosy, clean, well equipped and comfortable place to stay. In a beautiful part of the city, close enough to the city center to get there on a 10 min walk, but outside the busy part. Antonija was very helpful and made everything easier. All of her recommendations to the city, where to go, supermarkets, what to do, etc are beautifully organized on a "notebook" made by herself and available to guests in the kitchen. We will definitely choose the same place to stay on a future visit to Croatia. Amazing cost-benefit!

  A fine studio appartment in a convenient location. Everything you need is there and no complaints about the property however, if you are looking for a property with parking you will be sorely disappointed. We circled the rercommended free parking locations for 45 min together with dozens of other hapless locals who were also looking to park. The host recommended paid parking which was also chock full. We ended up parking 950m away after a lot of frustration.

  The location was very good. It’s my 3rd time staying in Split. And so far, def. the best location. I were also a very nice ambience in this area.

  This property is at a very good location, the apartment is equipped with very good facilities. There is even a washing machine and a small kitchenette. Unfortunately i didt give it full stars because when i booked there was parking available at the property. This is not true the street is very narrow and you have to be very lucky to find a parking. Other than that everything was super good.
